OWNER VIVIAN KU'S STORY
Vivian grew up on her family's Chinese vegetable farm in Bakersfield, California and got to see greens grown and harvested through the seasons from an early age. She then attended Harvard college for a degree in Economics. In college, she realized she wanted to run restaurants for a living, so she ran Quincy Grill on campus and staged at Henrietta's Table in Harvard Square on the side. Upon graduation, she attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. She opened Pine & Crane in Silver Lake, Los Angeles in 2014 and opened a sister concept called Joy in the Highland Park, Los Angeles in 2018.
